Lately I have been working on the printer settings for Inconel 718. I can happily report that it prints very well on the system.
Measurements from tensile tests show that the material achieves a tensile strength of 900-950 N/mm2 when printing every layer at 0.05.
When printing the infill every 0.1mm layers and the walls at the normal 0.05mm layers it achieves a tensile strength of 850-900N/mm2.
The mayor advantage of the 0.1mm layer infill is that depending on the geometry it prints up to 40% faster.
in the video shown the astronaut weighing about 200 gram took only 5 hours, the chess piece at 200 gram took 6 hours. this would be 7 and 9 hours with everything at 0.05mm layers.
