Expanding Operations: Welcome to the New Metal-Base HQ!

Building industrial metal 3D printers requires serious space, not just for the machines themselves, but for receiving heavy components, calibration, and rigorous testing. To accommodate the production of our Kickstarter batch, I am incredibly excited to announce that Metal-Base has officially moved into a new headquarters!

We now have a dedicated 75m² industrial facility specifically chosen to optimize our manufacturing workflow. The space is divided into two main areas to keep the build process highly organized:

  • The Ground Floor: Featuring a high-clearance roller door, this open space is perfect for receiving heavy pallets of parts from our suppliers. This will serve as our primary staging area and the main mechanical assembly line for the Metal 1.0.

  • The Mezzanine Level: This upper floor is being built out as a "clean" area. Because it is physically separated from the heavy mechanical work downstairs, it is the ideal environment for storing all the assemblies and components.

Over the coming weeks, my focus will be on outfitting the space—building out the workbenches, setting up the necessary tooling, and getting the floor fully prepped for serial production before the first major component shipments arrive.

Stay tuned for more updates as the shop comes together and the first pallets roll through the doors!
